Fire Extinguisher

A study of the relationship of form and environment. I was chosen to design a fire extinguisher that fits within a nightclub scene.

Salad Tongs

A pair of symmetrical salad tongs I designed as an exercise in the implications of form as it relates to function.

Bluetooth Speaker

An exercise in branding and form language. Using an existing product as a template for this project, I redesigned the Bose portable speakers to reflect the identity of the Cadillac brand.

Bokeh Lamp

The word "Bokeh" is a term used to describe the manner in which a camera renders in and out-of-focus light. In photography, Bokeh is typically rendered as polygonal dots of color, which is a result of the shape of the aperture and of the lens.

The effect of the light is intended to mimic the hypnotic quality of a flickering flame, or rippling water. I intent for the user to interact with the light during times when they feel the need to tune out the world and lose themselves in thought.

Aesthetics of Tangibility

Using a found material (a deer antler), create an artifact that people feel compelled to pick up with their hands and keep in motion. Explore finishes that "wear-in" rather than "wear-out" to emphasize the evidence of interaction and build character/value with age.

Aesthetics of Materiality

Given a predetermined material, explore the many possible ways it can used to create new artifacts.

I designed a submarine in Solidworks in order to create a 3D printed plaster mold that could be used to recycle crayons into new toys.
