Fitting the legs into the skirt of the desk proved to be a highly technical challenge. However, the legs gave the table a stance I knew I wanted to maintain. Sketchup proved to be a valuable tool for prototyping and visualizing the desk in its entirety before cutting into the wood.
Drawing is the best way I know how to communicate ideas to myself and to others. Inspired by the tendency of my friends and I to collectively draw on large sheets of paper or whiteboards during discussions. I felt a continuous roll of white paper for which to draw on was an appropriate choice for embodying this spirit of collaboration. Though I considered other materials such as whiteboard or chalk.
